What is the name of your business and when did you start?
Pleasantrees Cannabis Company was founded in 2018, with a sharp vision of providing premium-quality cannabis products. Our goal from the outset was to create a haven where top-notch cannabis is offered alongside a warm and informative atmosphere for our valued consumers. It has been an incredible journey of growth and learning since then.
Where can people find you / your products / your service? (Location, online, email or social media?)
Our products are carried at most retail stores in the state of Michigan. Customers can also shop at any of our five conveniently located retail stores in East Lansing, Hamtramck, Lincoln Park, Houghton Lake, and Mt Clemens. Meanwhile, our cultivation and processing facilities can be found in Harrison Township. We have strategically placed our outlets to ensure accessibility and convenience for our customers while maintaining a strong connection to our cultivation roots.
How many employees does your company have?
Pleasantrees is proud to have a dedicated team of over 150 employees. Each member of our staff plays an integral role in maintaining our ambitious standards, from cultivation and processing to customer service and education. It’s their commitment and passion that truly drives our success and enables us to provide exceptional products and services.
What services or products do you offer?
We are a fully vertical company, which enables us to produce most cannabis products in the market! Our newest category is the cannabis beverage market! We partnered with Blake’s Hard cider, to produce our brands Pleasanteas and Highly Casual.
What was your mission or purpose at the start of your company?
This company allows me to do what I love every day with my friends while we bring our premium cannabis products to the state of Michigan.
What made you choose to start a company in this industry?
I spent the early 2010’s really nerding out on cultivation design and what was necessary to grow consistently premium cannabis. My knowledge and experience, combined with a dream of what it could be, was enough to drive me and enough for my investors to believe in me.
Why do you feel your business is important to the community?
We pride ourselves in being a partner with any community we are a part of. And, we pay our employees an honest wage with great benefits so that they can be contributing community members.
Does your business give back to your community?
We’re doing all we can to mitigate the harmful effects of prohibition. A significant portion of our efforts are focused on unlocking fair and balanced employment opportunities at all levels of the fast-growing, legalized cannabis industry. Additionally, our company advocates for legislative reform aimed toward the release of those incarcerated for cannabis-related crimes, as well as the mass-expungement of criminal records regarding cannabis offenses. We are working hard to stay abreast of developments, attend to social needs, and remain dedicated to identifying and cultivating new, cutting-edge avenues to help right the historical wrongs.
