We are Solar Cannabis Co., though our original name was Solar Therapeutics due to our medical origins. And, we launched at the end of 2017.

How many employees does your company have?
We employ over 200 people!

We manufacture many form factors as well as white label for other companies. Products include flower, pre-rolls, various concentrates including vapes and solventless, and our kitchen produces the some of the best gummies and chocolates in the State! All our edibles are vegan/paleo/keto friendly using a “less is more” mentality in production.
What was your mission or purpose at the start of your company?
I created Solar to manufacture premium cannabis flower and cannabis products with a smaller energy footprint. I believe to create a sustainable industry we need to pioneer new ways to conserve power and utilize energy efficiently on site.
What made you choose to start a company in this industry?
I’ve been a passionate grower for many years, and an advocate for the cannabis plant. When MA was going legal for Medical, I felt that I had to get involved in any significant way that I could. Since my background was in engineering, and I’d been tinkering with advanced indoor grows for years, I really believe we took production to the “next level” at Solar.

Why do you feel your business is important to the community?
I believe Solar is important to the Cannabis community to showcase that there can be sustainable and innovative ways to create our products, while remaining profitable. It’s important for people to realize they can have an impact on the direction of the industry.
Does your business give back to your community?
Solar regularly partners with numerous nonprofits! We also support our local Police and Fire departments. Some of the non profit groups involve veterans, others involve animal rescue shelters. The moral of the story is that we’re trying to do right by our communities by being responsible corporate citizens.
