The Las Vegas Coalition for Zero Fatalities is offering $2 off one Lyft ride over the Fourth of July to promote responsible rideshare options to new and existing users partaking in holiday celebrations around town, while supplies last. Impaired fatalities make up 46.9 percent of Nevada’s total roadway deaths, with 442 of those fatalities occurring in Clark County between 2014-2018. Following a significant increase in DUI arrests in April, Distill – a local bar and Zappos’ joint sponsorship reaffirm the coalition’s ongoing commitment to eliminating impaired driving fatalities on Nevada’s roadways during significant consumption dates. This Fourth of July, new and existing Lyft users can use code LVCZFJULY4 for $2 off one ride from midnight, Saturday, July 4 through noon on Sunday, July 5.

“Distill – a local bar is proud to sponsor the Las Vegas Coalition for Zero Fatalities to help further the collective partners’ mission to eliminate impaired driving fatalities on Nevada’s roads,” said Distill – a local bar Marketing Manager Amy Vandermark “As Las Vegas reopens, we can continue to work together to continue the conversation as a community to educate on responsible driving behaviors, celebrate responsibly, prevent impaired driving crashes and ultimately save lives.”
“This year, 99 fatalities have occurred on Nevada’s roadways, 49 of those in March to May, a time when we should have been staying home for Nevada,” said Zero Fatalities representative Andrew Bennett. “This Independence Day, we encourage everyone to choose to drive sober and encourage their peers to make that same decision. By working together with Dignity Health, Lyft, and our partners, the Las Vegas Coalition for Zero Fatalities is one step closer to the goal of Zero Fatalities on Nevada’s roadways.”

The Las Vegas Coalition for Zero Fatalities’ year-long campaign is dedicated to eliminating impaired driving fatalities by increasing the visibility and accessibility of smart ride alternatives, including Lyft and public transit. Comprised of community leaders, members include the City of Las Vegas, DTP Companies, Downtown Summerlin, Fremont Street Experience, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Las Vegas Monorail, Nevada Highway Patrol, PT’s Taverns, Topgolf Las Vegas, Zero Fatalities, Las Vegas Weekly, Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC), Dignity Health St. Rose Dominican, Terrible Herbst, Entercom, Distill – a local bar and Zappos.
Lyft was founded in 2012 by Logan Green and John Zimmer and is now available to 95 percent of the United States population and select cities in Canada. Lyft is committed to initiatives that bridge transportation gaps and promote transportation through shared rides, bikeshare systems, electric scooters, and public transit partnerships.
