What made you choose to start a company in this industry? When did you start?
I chose to start a company in this industry because I was intrigued by the entire process of cultivating cannabis. The legalization of medical cannabis opened up the opportunity to be a trailblazer for the entire market in Oklahoma. I couldn’t think of anything better than that. So, I opened MVP Weed in 2020.

How many employees do you have?
Our workforce is small but mighty. It is important to note that we have outside help in the way of sales, trimmers, friends, and family. Nothing would be possible without the support of everyone involved.
What was your mission at the start of your company?
My mission was to offer Oklahoma great flower from a woman owned/Oklahoma Native source.
How would you describe your company’s workplace culture?

What three things do you want people to know about you?
We love what we do. There is so much passion for growing inside our four walls. I believe our passion, love, and dedication shows in the product we are sharing with the patients.
Describe your ideal customer.

Our perfect customer is a store that understands the amount of blood, sweat, and tears that goes into growing cannabis. We love customers that value the product and aren’t just about bottom lines and dollar signs. We love to work with customers that want to educate their patients on the strains and benefits of each cultivar.
Why do you feel your business is important to the community?
Because it’s crucial for more women to get involved in this industry. I hope our story will encourage more women to take a leap of faith and start or become more active in businesses within this space. There is an endless supply of opportunity in this industry.
How does your business give back to your community?
We are a brand-new business, so available time to focus on anything but the garden has been impossible. However, we are giving back to the community by growing clean, affordable medicine for Oklahoma medical patients.
We give back by spending all of our time and efforts growing to help those who need this plant to better their daily lives.
What are you looking forward to in 2023?

Lots of new flavors and maybe even some new products. Keep your eyes peeled. I’m always on the hunt.
