Solar Cannabis launched at the end of 2017 (originally as Solar Therapeutics due to our medical origins). Since my background was in engineering, and I’d been tinkering with advanced indoor grows for years, I really believe we took production to the “next level” at Solar.

What is your company mission?

I founded Solar to manufacture premium cannabis flower and products with a smaller energy footprint. I believe to create a sustainable industry we need to pioneer new ways to conserve power and utilize energy efficiently on site.

Tell us about your products.

We manufacture many form factors as well as white label for other companies. Products include flower, pre-rolls, various concentrates including vapes and solventless, and our kitchen produces some of the best gummies and chocolates in the State! All our edibles are vegan/paleo/keto friendly using a “less is more” mentality in production.

How many employees do you have?

We employ over 200 people!

What made you choose to start a com- pany in this industry?

I have been a cannabis groer and advocate for years. When MA was going legal for Medical, I felt I had to get involved in any significant way that I could.

Why do you feel your business is important to the community?

Solar showcases that there can be sustainable and innovative ways to create cannabis products, while remaining profitable. It’s important for people to realize they can have an impact on the direction of the industry.

How does your business give back to your community?

Solar regularly partners with numerous nonprofits! We also support our local Police and Fire departments. Some of the non profit groups involve veterans, others involve animal rescue shelters. The moral of the story is that we’re trying to do right by our communities by being responsible corporate citizens.
