What is the name of your business and when did you start?

Five years ago, we started the Cannabis Golf League with just a couple of calendar invites and a not-so-organized weekly golf game. What services or products do you offer?

We organize a series of networking events aimed at fostering connections. Whether you grab an individual ticket for our regular season golf games and let us match you with a group, or you’re eyeing bigger collaborations, our goal is to create networking events where real business gets done. Partnering with other cannabis brands is also our jam – it’s a great way to spotlight different companies. If you’re thinking of hosting an event and want to join forces, give us a shout!  Our specialty is bringing community together.  Creating real, genuine connections and to foster authentic relationships has always been at the heart of what we do.

What made you choose to start a company in this industry?

As anyone in the MJ industry can attest, establishing a business goes beyond mere entrepreneurship. Starting a journey in the MJ industry is complex. While many view the plant as medicinal, others perceive it as dangerous, which adds a lot of challenges. This often results in the industry relying on cold calls and unsolicited drop-ins, which, more often than not, lack the personal touch crucial for building trust. Additionally, our interactions at events or conferences can be limited to short conversations and the swapping of business cards.

Translating these brief connections from an event to the golf course can be transformative. The golf course can serve as a catalyst for turning fleeting introductions into in-depth dialogues that could potentially birth your next great partnership.

Why do you feel your business is important to the community?

At the CGL we recognize that bringing people together is the bedrock of any thriving community. By curating events where professionals from all sectors of the industry can connect, we lay the foundation for a myriad of business relationships and synergies that might have otherwise remained undiscovered. The essence of the cannabis industry is deeply rooted in relationships, understanding, and community. And in this context, we do more than just host events – we foster the relationships that truly define and drive our vibrant community forward.

Does your business give back to your community? 

Absolutely! Recently, we produced a tournament in collaboration with Colorado Leads, an incredible organization driving cannabis policy and connections within our industry. From this event, we were proud to support the Denver Assessment and Intake Diversion Center, aiding individuals in finding their footing after being released from jail. Additionally, a portion of our proceeds was donated to Realm of Caring, which is an organization that means a lot to us. With every tournament we organize, our overarching goal remains consistent: to harness the spirit of community and the ability to give back.
